June 2 - Zero Day At Shawnee State Park

Today was a zero mile day. We are staying in a cabin at Shawnee State Park.

My mother and I drove to Portsmouth. We went to the giant retailer where we shopped for groceries, picked up resupply items and got my antibiotic prescription. I will be on antibiotics for five days to fight my toe infection. I did laundry and got a hair cut while in town. We toured the Portsmouth flood wall murals. They are quite impressive. I have seen the murals several times before but they are always worth a visit when I am in town.

It felt good to rest for a day after eleven consecutive days of hiking.

I washed my backpack. It was starting to smell worse then me.

We had dinner in the lodge restaurant. Tomorrow I resume hiking.
